*PROGRESS REPORTS WILL BE SENT HOME TODAY (9/27)
Students will continue to work on finishing the Math i-ready diagnostic. They are encouraged to complete at least one i-ready lesson per week in addition to any weekly homework. ELA students will take a quiz today (9/27) on determing central idea, which has been the skill focus for this week in class. In addition, students will go home today with a homework packet for additional practice with central idea and citing evidence. This packet is to be completed at home and returned next Friday (10/4). Picture day will be on Monday 9.23
ELA students will also have media center orientation on Monday ELA students will take a characterization quiz this Friday 9/20. All cores should have taken notes on the following this week in class. Quiz will cover all forms of characters and characterization methods, including conflict, protagonists and antagonists.
Students who have not finished the reading i-ready diagnostic will be pulled to the media center on Monday to complete this test. Just a reminder that this Wednesday will be an early release day. Students will be dismissed at 12:20.
Social Studies will have a notebook check today and a quiz on Wednesday. Math will take a quiz on Friday. ELA students will continue with Studysync this week, beginning with Barrio Boy. Some students will need to complete the i-ready reading diagnostic this week. Students will be completing the i-ready reading diagnostic this week on Thursday and Friday.
Students in ELA will begin the first unit in StudySync this week: "In Pursuit: What drives us to undertake missions?" We will begin the unit with Ernesto Galarza's Barrio Boy. Studysync materials can be accessed from any phone, tablet or computer at home. If you need assistance with log-in information, please email [email protected] If students have not already completed the math i-ready diagnostic, they are encouraged to finish this test at home, if possible. Math students will be taking a pre-assessment for Unit 1 this week. |
