We will continue our study of “Weather” this week. This week’s AGENDA and TOPICS include the following: 5/18: Convection Currents Virtual Stations 5/19: Prevailing westerlies and Polar easterlies PowerPoint and Guided Notes 5/20: UNC TV Corioilis Effect – Discussion questions 5/21: Gulf Stream video – Discussion/ reflection 5/22: Jet Stream – Current Events Crash Course w/Kahoot! 🏆Remember to do your BEST daily! ALL assignments can be submitted and 'Turn In' by Friday, May 15. So, pace yourself throughout the week. MAKE SURE you submit and 'Turn In' assignments correctly in order to receive credit. We have just finished out our section on scale drawings this week in google classroom and will be starting our last section on 3 dimensional figures this Friday. If you have not yet signed in to google classroom and done the scale drawing material, please do so. These are VERY interactive activities and I can see your progress as you go for feedback. Live meetings are on Thursdays at 11 am and 2 pm. We always go over some of the newest material before I take questions and a save a few min each session I post the invitation in Google classroom before each meeting. Please use your video when you join a meeting, I’m always happy to see all your faces. Please keep working through your iReady and the material in google classrooms. Let’s be as ready as we can be for next year! ELA: This week, students will be completing the "blast" Harvest to Harvest along with activities in studysync. We will work on identifying the text structures used in nonfiction to annotate the text. Following that, we will read and annotate About Cesar, and use annotation skills to determine the central idea in the text. Students should view the recorded Zoom lessons posted on Google Classroom on Central Idea and Text Structure. I will also post additional review materials so that students can practice these skills. SOCIAL STUDIES: This week we will learn about the Cold War - its participants, its origins, and the nature of the conflict. We will begin new book chats, so please sign up for and locate a version of the book you can use. We will work to get/make PDF copies available as we can. The week will conclude with a Virtual Cold War Learning Experience led by Ms. Donnelly.
